At this year’s E3 conference in LA, eye tracking in games has really started gaining momentum with 17 new games. We have revealed support in three AAA games including Deep Silver’s Agents of Mayhem, Ubisoft’s For Honor™ and last but not least Ubisoft’s newest addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed® Origins.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise is huge, ambitious and intriguing. Eye tracking is already available in Assassin’s Creed® Rogue and Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate and we are excited to bring eye tracking to the latest game in the series. This time we are traveling all the way back to ancient Egypt, to the beginning the Brotherhood.
Assassin’s Creed® Origins was announced by Ubisoft on stage at E3 this weekend – watch the trailer here:
In Assassin’s Creed® Rogue and Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate, we implemented eye tracking features such as Extended View to allow the players to effortlessly look around in the game by letting their gaze steer the in-game camera. Clean UI enhanced the immersion of the earlier games by removing the in-game UI when the player isn’t looking at them. Dynamic Light was also used to mimic real-life lighting situations, making the brightness of the game adapt to where the players are focusing their gaze. Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate also included the Aim at Gaze feature, enabling players to aim at their target just by looking. All of these features are meant to make the game feel more like real life.
We’re not releasing the eye tracking feature set just yet for Assassin’s Creed® Origins – but you can be sure they will bring the game to the next level, making you feel like you are in the Animus yourself. Keep an eye out for more announcements on the features coming soon.
Can’t wait for Assassin’s Creed® Origins? For Honor will be available with Tobii Eye Tracking July 2017.
In For Honor you hack and slash your way through your opponents, either alone or with friends. With Tobii’s Extended View feature in For Honor you will be able to look around using your eyes by rotating the in-game camera with your gaze. Fight your way through the game while still being aware of your surroundings and watch your back by glancing behind you.
With eye tracking in For Honor you will see the battle from a whole new perspective and experience true immersion.
